TLC Healthcare owns and operates multi-generational healthcare precincts with co-located residential aged care, community medical centres, health clubs, early learning centres, registered training facilities and commercial cafés, across Melbourne and Geelong.

Artwork and decor play an important part in our resident, patient and customer experiences. We started working with La Grolla in 2017, and I have been working with Sara since joining TLC in 2022.

During this time we have worked on complete artwork replacements across our operations in Mordialloc, Frankston North, Hallam and Noble Park, and are currently planning for Belmont and Altona North.

Sara and the La Grolla team bring a wealth of design and art experience to our projects. In aged care, our homes generally have internal resident community names that relate to their local environment.

We work to create mood-boards that thematically tie to the these, and tell a story as you walk from one area of the home to the other. We then assess the wall space, and devise a plan for how many pieces of art we’ll install in each area. The selection process is comprehensive, and a bit of fun, too!

Installation is a smooth process with La Grolla’s partner, WeHangArt. Sara and I map out where each individual artwork will be hung, and from there it generally takes a few days to install.

The quality of art is remarkable; the embellishments applied in house subtly improve the pieces, and our staff, residents, patients and customers have nothing but positive feedback about our artworks. Even when someone’s unsure whether they ‘like’ a particular piece, I love that it gets people talking. As after all artists, and art, are meant to disturb the peace.

Collaborating with La Grolla was a smooth and efficient experience. Their expertise, resources and support in curating large volumes of artwork was invaluable.
